Vertigo
This November I was part of a two woman show at the Ben Oakley Gallery with the lovely Kim Tong. The title of the show Vertigo was about moments of unease and uncertainty and how we try to stabilise while in that altered state.
The show was on for two weeks in November and included large and small canvases as well as several fragile glass objects that I painted. A retro purple glass vase with the spray painted image of an in angel wrapped around it and a murmuration of birds individually painted on transparent paper that overlapped allowing the image of other shapes to blur through.
If you did not get to see the show you can view it on Google Earth by going to 9 Turnpin Lane in Greenwich London and while at street view click on the white arrows that lead you into the Ben Oakley Gallery and look around. You can also go upstairs in the gallery and look at the paintings of all the other artist that show their work there.

Spray Paint on Canvas
I'm back to spray paint and stencils on canvas. My first canvas since I finished the painted bottles for Far Rockaway. This is only a detail as I'm starting a larger canvas and adding some other images. I'm also making five small feather paintings in the same colourway to leave on the street as free street art.

Shoreditch Window
The Farrockaway restaurant in Curtain Road, Shoreditch opened this weekend and my window display is in place. The bottles are stacked back to back so you can also see them from inside the bar. It was the first time that I had seen them altogether as this is a really big window display and I don't have an equivalent space. I am really pleased with the finished look.
These two pictures show close-ups of the bottles in their new home.
Also inside you will find the skateboard and the two small tables that I painted.

Art at Far Rockaway
The bottles I have been painting are all finished, packaged up and sent off to the Far Rockaway Restaurant in Curtain Road, Shoreditch London which is due to open shortly.
I'm looking forward to seeing them all together as I did not have a space large enough to display them. I'm also looking forward to seeing the other great art that has been commissioned for the restaurant with artists like David Bray, Mark Powell, Wreckage International, Rugman, Snub, Guy Denning, Barry Bish, Ben Oakley and many more. Far Rockaway is shaping up to be the art event of the year.

Urban Barrier (Slight Return)
The Urban Barrier exhibition is up and running with three of my paintings included. One of them is the new piece called Lost and Found in Suburbia. There will be more in this series of work to follow.
The show is on until the 23rd December 2012 and as you enter through the main entrance you are greeted with my Guardian Angel painting. There is also a large full Magnum bottle that I have painted and given for the Raffle that you could win for Christmas if you buy a ticket. I have also found what I want for Christmas; a Rugman or a Guy Denning art work.

Looking and Seeing
I have been busy this week working on the face of a painting that was started some time ago. I felt it needed a pair of brown eyes to give it more of a focus point.
I was also out and about in the City. While there I left one of my feathers on a building and then watched the people rushing around looking at maps and routes but not really looking at the city. I'm wondering if the feather is still there.

More Girls
The champagne bottles I painted the other week have gone out into the street as free art. It felt odd leaving them in places as they seem to have their own personalities - a bit like saying goodbye to a child. I then collected some new bottles to paint. Being made of glass they are quite fragile and yet heavy to carry around so just as well some of them already have homes to go to.

Study of an angel
While I'm busy on a new painting I have also been working on a study of an angel. Using stencils I cut for an earlier picture (the blue angel) I have made a much smaller and lighter version. This gives me time out from the main work I'm doing at the moment and lets me experiment with colour and ideas.

Spirit in a bottle
I have started a new project which came from an older project. Last year I made a piece of work 'spirit in a bottle' that was a champagne advert with a superimposed angel face. The new project is a collection of empty champagne bottles that I have added images to and I am thinking of putting them out as free art.

The Blue Angel
I'm getting near to finishing this large painting I started sometime ago. It is a lot darker in real life than it looks on the screen as the camera has picked up some darker shades and lightened them. I'm already thinking of painting a lighter version on a smaller canvas.

Albums and Angels
The Long Player exhibition will be ending soon, meaning that the record shop styling of the Gallery will all have to change.
There are still a few album covers left up for sale but they will all go to make way for a new exhibition.
You should also visit the Coach and Horses Pub, in the centre of Greenwich market. There you can see my Black Ivy Angel painting together with other artist's work.

Otto Schade
I went along to the Urban Schade show of Otto Schade street art at the B.O.G. in greenwich Friday night. His work is a lot more detailed than I had thought. What looks like a plain black background is actually a area of black on black type or imagery.
Photographing this is not easy so you need to go and see it. The show is on until the 5th February 2012 where you can also find two print racks containing work of many artists at good prices.
The show soon filled up with a mix of new faces and good friends.

Future Art Show
This February I will have some work in a new show at the Ben Oakley Gallery in Greenwich London. I'm not going to tell you too much about it but if you watch the video there is a small clue. The video was filmed a few years ago when I was part of a pop up gallery for Christmas. We were promoting the gallery by giving away original art but we were informed that we were destroying private property with drawing pins.
